There is really not much to it: any new small project just gets the next sequential number, say p0051 if the last assigned project was p0050 (I use the preceding zeros to ensure the tasks sort in the right order). To know the meaning of the numbers, you could simply click the Projects list and look for the description of that particular project (e.g. "p0051: pay the rent". Alternatively, you could print that Project list, as it is relatively stable, and have it on your desk for easy reference.
